The stretch from Thanksgiving to New Year's is one of the busiest times of year for Louisville pet parents. Some of you are traveling. Others are staying in town but working extra shifts, hosting family, or running between school events and holiday plans. Either way, your dog's routine can get squeezed.
I have openings for daycare and boarding this holiday season. Specific dates and availability are confirmed during booking, so the earlier you reach out, the easier it is to get the days you need.
This post covers both daycare and boarding for the whole season. If you are focused only on overnight stays during the two biggest holidays, see Thanksgiving and Christmas Dog Boarding in Louisville: Why Booking Early Matters. If you have a cat, Traveling for Thanksgiving? Why In-Home Cat Sitting May Be the Better Choice is a better fit.
Daycare for busy holiday days at home
Not every holiday care need involves a trip. Daycare can help on days like:
Long work weeks before and after Thanksgiving or Christmas
Days you are cooking, cleaning or hosting guests
Shopping trips, school programs or holiday parties
Days when a house full of visitors would be stressful for your dog
Daycare happens in my home, so your dog spends the day in a calm, home-style setting instead of a busy facility. Early drop-offs, late pickups, rotating schedules, and weekend or holiday care may be possible depending on the week. Those options are confirmed during booking. For more on how daycare fits work schedules, see Dog Daycare in Louisville: Flexible Care for Long Shifts and Busy Work Schedules.
Boarding for holiday travel
If you are leaving town, boarding gives your dog overnight care in my home while you are away. Your dog stays in a home environment with routines kept as close to yours as possible, including meals, potty breaks, rest and play.

Why booking early matters this time of year
Holiday dates often overlap. Thanksgiving weekend, the days around Christmas and New Year's Eve tend to be requested by many families at once. Booking early gives you:
A better chance at the exact dates you need
Time for a meet and greet before the busy weeks start
Time to gather vaccine records, food and medication instructions
Less last-minute scrambling if your plans shift
Even if your plans are not final, reaching out with tentative dates is a good first step. For more planning tips, see Holiday Pet Care in Louisville: How to Book the Right Care Before Your Travel Dates Fill Up.
How booking works
Reach out with your dates. Share whether you need daycare, boarding or both, plus a little about your dog.
Confirm availability. I confirm specific dates and any schedule options during booking.
Meet and greet. We meet so your dog can get comfortable and I can learn their routine.
Deposit and details. For privacy, my exact address and arrival instructions are shared after a deposit is received.
How to prepare your dog
Pack their usual food, enough for the full stay plus a little extra
Bring medications with clear written instructions
Include a familiar blanket or toy that smells like home
Share your vet's contact information and an emergency contact
Note any holiday stressors, like fireworks around New Year's, so I can plan for them
As a Fear Free Certified caregiver, I let dogs settle in at their own pace. I am also Pet First Aid & CPR Trained and Bonded & Insured.
Have small animals too?
If you share your home with rabbits, birds, reptiles or other small pets, Small Animal Boarding may also be an option. Ask about it when you reach out, and availability will be confirmed during booking. For holiday planning for rabbits, birds, reptiles and other small pets, see Holiday Pet Care for Rabbits, Reptiles, Birds and Small Animals in Louisville.
